Earlier this year, we introduced a new burger joint in Keya, Itoshima, and here we go again, but this time not in the town but along the coast. Tucked in along a beach access road Santa Monica Itoshima is all on its own without any other shops within eyesight. However, just steps away is the seawall leading to Keya no Oto, about a kilometer away. From the intersection with Loiter Market (gelato stand), head towards the newly opened Itoshima C&Z container lot and then head towards the sea. There’s plenty of parking, outdoor tables, hammocks, and indoor space. The friendly owner, Tim, was born in Sasebo, so it’s no surprise his burgers are very much “Sasebo” style; large, wide, flat, and with a sweet sauce flavor. The 13cm wide buns are impressive! Choose between the regular Hamburger (¥680), Egg Burger, Cheese Burger, Bacon Burger, and Special Burger. Sets with fried potatoes and drinks available. He’s open every day from 11 am to sunset and closed in bad weather.
