In Nijo, Itoshima, known for its red rice production, art emerges in the rice fields in mid-September as the harvest season begins. Each year, a unique large design is created using the vibrant red rice stalks and surrounding fields. The red rice glows beautifully in the light of the setting sun, with the best viewing time around 5 pm on clear days. On September 14, visitors can enjoy freshly pounded rice cakes and sample red rice dishes.
