Around 200 sumo wrestlers, including all top-division rikishi listed on the November tournament (Kyushu Basho) ranking, gather in Itoshima for a special sumo tour event. Unique to these regional tours are performances like “shokkiri” (comic demonstrations of illegal moves), sumo-themed folk songs (sumo jinku), handshake sessions, and Q&A corners—offering a rare look at the wrestlers’ personalities. Visitors can also watch intense matches up close in this lively, interactive sumo experience.
