Oysters are also in season. The sea level was higher then, and the coastline was further inland than it is now. It was the first soy sauce brewery in Japan to commercialize sweet soy sauce, which is made without adding sugar or sweeteners to give it the sweet flavor that is characteristic of Kyushu soy sauces.
